LCOE is a short form for levelized costs of electricity. It is a ratio between all the costs of a power plant and all revenues for electricity. So, the LCOE take costs of building, operating and dismantling of the plant as well as possible fuel costs.
The LCOE are often used to compare different ways to generate electricity with each other.
The International Energy Agency has reported in 2020 that the levelised costs of electricity generation of low- carbon generation technologies like large PV scale are falling and are increasingly below the costs of conventional fossil fuel generation.
