What is LID?

The "Light Induced Degradation" or "LID" is as its name suggests a degradation of the power of the module during the first hours of exposure to light. This is due to the creation of B-O complexes (Boron and Oxygen atoms) which have the effect of reducing the cell's ability to produce electricity. N-Type cells technologies are doped with phosphorus and therefore have no LID.
